What is HBOT?
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) is a simple, painless, non-invasive way of giving the body more oxygen than it is able to get from the air. It involves administering pure oxygen at twice the normal atmospheric pressure inside a private, purpose-built chamber, enabling the body to take in 10-15 times more oxygen than normal.
Deforestation, gas emissions, factories and other kinds of modern pollution have caused a 3% drop in the level of oxygen in our atmosphere. This is just one of the reasons why people are looking for ways to get more of it.
Why is oxygen so important?
Oxygen, which makes up about 21% of the atmosphere, is essential to human life for three reasons:
- It is one of the body’s basic building blocks. All of the body’s major components — water, protein, carbohydrate and fat — contain oxygen.
2. Oxygen helps bring about certain chemical reactions within the body that result in the production of energy. Energy is required for all major bodily functions such as circulation, respiration, digestion, and maintaining a constant body temperature.
3. Oxygen is necessary for cell growth and regeneration and acts as a natural antiviral and antibiotic. In other words, oxygen powers the healing process.
Why does HBOT speed up the healing process?
Nature dictates that healing can’t take place without appropriate oxygen levels in our body tissues. In cases where people have circulatory problems and conditions like diabetes, brain injuries and strokes, adequate oxygen is unable to reach injured areas, so the body’s natural healing process can’t function properly.
HBOT raises our oxygen levels significantly above that which can be achieved at normal pressure, giving an extra boost to our body’s vital functions.
It also allows oxygen to reach areas where our circulation is poor, fast-tracking the healing process in those areas. And since oxygen is a natural antiviral and antibiotic, extra oxygenation boosts our immunity, enhancing our white blood cells’ ability to kill infections.
Please note that HBOT is not a replacement for general medicine, it has been proven time and again to speed up the healing process and improve symptoms for a wide range of illnesses and disease.
Doctors are increasingly using HBOT to help the body recover from non-healing wounds, inflammation, carbon monoxide poisoning, infection, chronic fatigue/ME, multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy, heart attacks, strokes, Alzheimer’s and sports injuries. Please note that although HBOT having been used for many years as a therapeutic intervention for a variety of indications, the evidence for its use remains uncertain which means that it is not proven by “randomized prospective controlled clinical experiment or trial” which is considered to be the strongest form of scientific evidence by conventional medical standards.
Here at the Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Centre in London, in adjunction with their conventional medical therapies, we’re aiming to support hundreds of patients suffering from all kinds of debilitating conditions.
For more information about what Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy can do for you, contact us on 0203 823 1212 or email@example.com, or book a consultation with our very own world-famous hyperbaric expert Robert Pender.
It is always recommended that clients visit their GP or Consultant if there is any medical problem before commencing HBOT. Our HBOT expert, Robert Pender regularly consults GPs and medical consultants or relevant members (MDs) of International Hyperbaric Medical Association when required whilst client’s confidentiality will be respected and protected throughout.
In accordance with UK and EU legislation we confirm that there is no intention implied or otherwise that HBOT is given so with the intention of it being a cure, diagnosis or as a preventative for any disease. Any references, studies or testimonials on this website do not imply that similar results will occur when the same therapy is experienced by another.
